We all know that geocaching involves hidden a treasure and another finding it, but what exactly would you categorize geocaching as? A hobby, Game or Sport?
The amazing part of Geocaching is that it can be played anytime and anywhere in the world and as often as you like. You can play the game daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, the choice is yours on how often you want to leave on a Geocaching hunt.

You can Geocaching Alone, With friends and family. In my opinion, Geocaching can be a mix of all three depending on how you want to play the game. Some may argue that Geocaching is not a sport, however, curling and shuffleboard are both a sport so to me I'd believe Geocaching could be a sport of its own depending on the cacher and how they want to see this activity.
What's your opinion on this activity? How do you play the game?

For me it all depends, I take Geocaching as a hobby most days as I enjoy taking my time out in the wilderness exploring my surroundings, snapping pictures and taking in all the beautiful sights around while out exploring for treasure. On other days I like to see this activity as a competitive game as I will set out with friends and see who can find the first five geocaches making the game very interesting. Not that it's not already interesting it just adds a little more creativity to the game when playing with friends. I'd say the die-hard Geocachers that take this game to an entirely another level would consider this game a sport. Maybe even the easy park and grab players may consider this as a sport too who knows. I say its all up to the Cacher and the way they play the game and how they see it.
After you get the hang of the game and how to navigate with your GPS, you'll enjoy sharing pictures and stories with fellow geocachers, family, and friends. You can also share all of your stories online on geocaching.com.
Geocaching events are a great way to meet new cachers and to get involved in the geocaching community. These events are held worldwide and can be a very fun way to share your geocaching experience. Check for events near you, I highly recommend attending one.
