What Is A Geocaching Community?

What Is A Geocaching Community?
Where can you find them?
When I first started Geocaching I wasn't familiar with the geocaching communities out there, they are great to be apart of for sharing your stories and pictures of all the Geocaches you will find. I know for me, I love reading the stories from other cachers. I love seeing all the pictures from different caches hidden across the world. I find it all so very interesting and fun to read. My kids love hearing the other cacher stories and seeing all the amazing caches out there too. It's hard to travel around the world to see what caches hide out there but with the easy access to the internet, you get to see a different variety of caches thanks to the online communities.

Most people who play this game, whether alone, with family or in a group they consider themselves part of a community of some sort. The Geocaching community is very large with friends and family locally and around the world. Lots and lots of communities have made their appearance over the years coming from everywhere, you most likely have a local group nearby that you could find be apart of.  These groups usually elaborate websites, members get together often for a Geocaching hike and all other kinds of events. For example, the local group that I am following have a Geo breakfast at the end of each month followed by a hike in the forest to find a series of Geocaches. It's always a great time to get together.

The communities are usually made up of other Cachers and adventure seekers from all walks of life, races, age, everyone is welcome and connected by a bond to each other by their passion towards Geocaching. Everyone wants to enjoy and promote the activity they love so much.
This means that no matter where you travel to, where ever your next adventure is, if you are a Geocacher there is always a way to make new friends and enjoy finding a few Geocaches along the way. Geocachers take lots of pride in this really fun activity making it enjoyable for every kind of Geocacher. Keep in mind when playing the game; each Geocacher has to ask permission by the landowner before placing his or her Geocache, therefore each location should be a safe spot to hunt down a Geocache.
