- Nothing is more refreshing than fresh air:
It doesn't really matter which part of the world you are living in, being outside enjoying fresh air is such an amazing feeling. Being out in the forest enjoying the forest air is one of my favorites things to do, it's very relaxing and great for the body. With the pollution in the city air inhaling those chemicals isn't good for the body. Taking time to go outside exploring the world to soak in some fresh air will do some wonders for your overall health. Being able to Geocache while hiking beautiful trails is a fun way to keep the outdoor activities interesting for everyone of all ages.

- It's a great excuse to take out all that outdoor gear: Depending on how far you're going on your Geocaching adventure will determine the outdoor gear you will need. I love being able to plan overnight hiking trips because I adore being able to sleep under the stars and camping is another fun activity we love doing. Bringing a hiking pack for the trip is always a great idea. I like carrying some liquids to keep hydrated with some snacks and other goodies we will talk about a hikers backpack in another future post. Depending on the geocaches you are out to find a headlamp may be something you will need to bring along with you. I love being able to bring the outdoor gear and to try anything new during adventures.

- It's a fun way to learn about the GPS, navigation and outdoor skills: Before geocaching, I knew how to use the basic features of a GPS. I knew how to get from home to a certain location that id simply clicks on. I had no idea this fancy gadget was being used to find treasure. I love being able to incorporate these skills into your hiking adventure
- Geocaching helps improve your health and fitness: Hiking and climbing mountains for geocaches can help you get the body you've always wanted. It's not always easy hiking from point A to point B, however, I find when you're searching for some geocaches it helps keep the hiker motivated in hiking to the following geocache. By hiking for your geocaches you are increasing your muscles strength, helping your endurance, reduce blood pressure, increases stamina, gets your heart rate up and increases longevity. However, hiking for geocaches in the mountains can be very dangerous do so with care and make sure to have a first aid kit with you. Better to always be safe while out in the woods exploring.
- It can be exciting to feel like a secret agent: Often when I head out hiking a trail for a geocache the trails tend to be a little busy. I love how you need to be cautious when searching for a cache. You want to be sure no muggles see you. It sorta feels like your hiding your secret hobby from the rest of the world.
- Gives you an escape from the real world: Geocaching gives you a chance to step away from your day-to-day life and since you are mostly outside hiking it also gives you a sense of peace and contentment. We often have busy schedules I find Geocaching gives me a chance to put all that on hold and go out to let it all go and enjoy the world around me. I find we often get a small window of time to do what is most important to us in our life. Geocaching has helped many people get back on track with there outdoor activities and health.
- Finding a Geocache with a loved one can be really romantic: This is really true, going on Geodates I like to call are an easy way for you and your loved one to get outside and bond while exploring and searching for Geocaches. We often take time to make a list of " Adult" caches we cant to find and go out my boyfriend and I to find them. It gives us a chance to be together and find caches we cannot find with our kids.
- Challenges your limits: Geocaching offers a sense of competition without really competing with anyone but yourself and adding more smileys to your map. It's never meant to be a race with anyone but an enjoyable time outside. We have tested our limits when it comes to Geocaching by landing on a couple that put us in a position we have never been in before. Geocaching will certainly test your capabilities with your own self and how far you will go for a smiley. It may not always be a physical challenge, but it will allow you to learn so much about yourself and help you grow into a better person because of it, try it, you will see for yourself.
- Great for the whole family: This is my favorite reasons to Geocache. I'm a mom of two children for those who have not been following the blog. It's great to be able to get outside and enjoy a walk in nature with the entire family. I find since we started Geocaching it's a great way to keep the kids wanting to hike and stay outside in nature. ( Check out my other post; how to geocache with kids ). They have loved this game ever since we started and rarely ever want to stay indoors, they always want to get out on a new adventure to add more smileys to the map. It's a great feeling as most hobbies and sports require you to spend loads of your hard earned money. With geocaching, it doesn't require much and can be easily played on a budget which is amazing!!
